100 – Ranked’s 100th Episode Spectacular

Celebrating 100 episodes of Ranked!
Almost 4 years ago there was an idea. An idea of Tuong uniting three other guests to bicker, banter, and passionately put together arbitrary Top 5 lists of anything and everything. Over the last few years we have ranked everything from Sandwich Toppings, to TV Theme Songs, to a variety of Fictional Animals. But for the 100th episode, we knew we had to go above and beyond to make a list that TRULY does not matter that also honours the legacy of all Ranked episodes (so far).

So join us as Tuong La and the A-Team Angus MacDonald, Samantha Leggatt, and Leslie Cserepy look back on all of the winners of each Top 5 list we have ever done, pit them together in a battle royale of which #1 was the best, and record a marathon episode where we rank and order ONE HUNDRED EPISODES in Ranked’s 100th Episode Spectacular!

Paranormal Activity

Did… did that door just move?

Paranormal Activity did the unthinkable: made just about everyone afraid of their own homes. In a stroke of genius, the series strips the haunted house story to its core and makes it relatable.  Everybody knows the feeling of hearing footsteps at night, or maybe seeing some lights flickering, or portals that transport you to the early 1990s– wait, what? The Paranormal Activity series starts firmly planted on a tripod but quickly eschews that for secret covens and time travelling camcorders. Yep.

Saw

John ‘The Jigsaw Killer’ Kramer has done the unthinkable: somehow made the Saw movies the most popular horror franchise of the mid-00s. Swapping a coherent plot for buckets of blood and gore, the Saw series leans on its shock value to distract from its overly convoluted and under-written continuity. “Want to play a game?” No. Now take your pig mask and get out of here.
