DD49 – The Princess and the Frog (2009)

Legend has it you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you meet your prince, but somehow our friend Tiana got it right on the first try – and if you’re into jazz, beignets, and watching fireflies on the bayou, then you’ll agree with the Dummies that The Princess and the Frog got a lot of other things right, too! Groove along with us to the sights and sounds of Mardi Gras, New Orleans jazz, and an excellent cast of characters in this starry take on a classic tale.

DD48 – Bolt (2008)

If ever an argument were to be made that Disney created a character that was TOO cute, it would probably be Bolt. A canine action star who loves his human more than anything, and establishes an unlikely friendship with a cynical but street smart big-city cat? The Dummies never stood a chance. But they’re up to the challenge all the same, and this week they’ve got a lot to bark about as they howl the praises of one of the most underwoofed Disney films of the 21st century.

DD47 – Meet the Robinsons (2007)

It’s another first for the Dummies this week, as we give time travel a go with Meet the Robinsons, a family of quirky characters who are all about celebrating the art of trying – even when it ends in failure. But as we follow our hero Lewis through time and space along with his guide and new friend Wilbur Robinson, we’ve got a sneaking suspicion (or at least, some of us do) that Wilbur might know more about Lewis than he’s letting on…

DD46 – Chicken Little (2005)

We’re back into the world of CG animation, and for Chicken Little, Disney went BIG! Anthropomorphic animals, alien invasions, a high-stakes baseball game…this movie has everything! But as the Dummies will tell you, at the heart of it, we’ve got a little chicken with a big heart – and some pretty cool tricks up his sleeve that he just might have to use to save the day.

DD45 – Home on the Range (2004)

They say there’s no place like home, and the Disney Dummies can confirm that there’s certainly no place like Home on the Range…and that’s probably a good thing. Not to call this one a stinker, but the farm winds are blowing all over this, well, stinker, as our new friends Maggie, Grace, and Mrs. Calloway teach us that of all the things we need in this world, an animated movie about displaced cattle probably wasn’t one of them.

DD44 – Brother Bear (2003)

Oh brother, bear art thou? Trek through the Alaskan wilderness with the Dummies as they follow former human, current bear Kenai on his quest to find “the mountain where the lights touch the earth” and transform back into his former self – while discovering, with the help of Denahi, Sitka, and Koda, what brotherhood really means. (No thanks to Phil Collins).

DD43 – Treasure Planet (2002)

We’re shooting for the stars and solar surfing into space this week, as the Dummies tune into Disney’s Treasure Planet. Swashbuckle along with us on a multi-galaxy adventure involving pirates, planets, portals, and the greatest treasure of all (spoiler: it’s love).

DD42 – Lilo & Stitch (2002)

“Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind.” Are you crying yet?? Catch a wave with Lilo and Stitch – plus Nani, David, and the Disney Dummies! We follow our tough little protagonist, her loving sister, and their new pet “dog” as they learn what it means to be a family- and most importantly, that even broken families are still good.

DD41 – Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001)

If you’ve ever questioned Disney’s commitment to sci-fi, check out Atlantis: The Lost Empire, which features AN ENTIRE LANGUAGE created for the fictional (???) Atlanteans. Venture underwater with the Dummies as we navigate some fancy ocean plumbing on a hunt for the fabled ancient society, led by charismatic linguist/cartographer Milo and a motley crew of experts who are ready to take on any obstacle – including, perhaps, the darkness within their own hearts. OooooOOOOo!!
